ATF Antibodies

TF (Activating Transcription Factor) antibodies are designed to target the ATF family of transcription factors, which play crucial roles in regulating gene expression in response to various physiological stresses, growth factors, and hormones. The ATF family includes a range of proteins that interact with cAMP-responsive elements (CRE) in the promoter regions of specific genes, driving the transcription of genes related to cellular growth, differentiation, and apoptosis.

Content and Structure of ATF Antibody

ATF antibodies are typically raised against the conserved DNA-binding domain of ATF proteins, ensuring broad reactivity across various ATF isoforms. These antibodies are available as monoclonal or polyclonal variants, with each having specific advantages depending on the desired application. Monoclonal antibodies provide high specificity for a particular ATF isoform, while polyclonal antibodies offer broader detection of multiple ATF family members.

Application of ATF Antibody
  • Western Blotting (WB): ATF antibodies are commonly used to detect ATF protein levels in lysates from various cell types and tissues. The antibodies recognize both endogenous and overexpressed ATF proteins, allowing researchers to monitor expression changes in response to cellular stress or drug treatments.
  • Chromatin Immunoprecipitation (ChIP): ATF antibodies are employed in ChIP assays to identify ATF binding sites on DNA. By immunoprecipitating ATF proteins bound to their target sequences, researchers can map the transcriptional regulatory networks in which ATF family members are involved. T
  • Immunohistochemistry (IHC) and Immunocytochemistry (ICC): ATF antibodies are used to localize ATF proteins within tissue sections or cultured cells. These techniques are critical for understanding the spatial distribution and localization of ATF proteins in different cellular contexts, particularly in stress-related or oncogenic processes.
  • Enzyme-Linked Immunosorbent Assay (ELISA): ATF antibodies are applied in ELISA setups to quantify ATF protein levels in various biological fluids or cell extracts.
  • Flow Cytometry (FACS): In some cases, ATF antibodies are conjugated to fluorochromes and used in flow cytometry to measure ATF expression in specific cell populations.
