Overview

CD335 is a type I transmembrane glycoprotein, which serves as one of natural cytotoxicity receptors, and represents major receptor informing NK cells that they should kill particular virus-infected or tumor cell. Its sialic acids residues are involved in recognition of viral hemagglutinins, similarly it recognizes heparan sulphate proteoglycans on the surface of tumor cells.
