RBK Antibodies

RBK (Receptor-type Tyrosine Kinase-like Orphan Receptor 1, also known as Ror1) antibodies are designed to detect Ror1, a member of the receptor tyrosine kinase (RTK) family. Although Ror1 is classified as a receptor tyrosine kinase, it is considered an orphan receptor, meaning its ligand was initially unknown.

Applications of RBK (Ror1) Antibodies
  • Western Blotting (WB): Ror1 antibodies are commonly used in western blot assays to detect and quantify Ror1 protein levels in cell and tissue lysates. This helps in understanding Ror1 expression in various cancer types, where its overexpression often correlates with disease progression and poor prognosis.
  • Flow Cytometry (FC): Ror1 antibodies are employed in flow cytometry to analyze the surface expression of Ror1 in different cell populations, especially in cancer cells or circulating tumor cells (CTCs). This is important for evaluating Ror1 as a biomarker for cancer diagnosis and prognosis.
  • Immunoprecipitation (IP): Ror1 antibodies are used to immunoprecipitate Ror1 protein from cell lysates, enabling researchers to study Ror1’s interaction with other signaling molecules or ligands involved in its functional pathways.
Ror1 Antibodies in Disease Research
  • Cancer: Ror1 is overexpressed in several cancers, including chronic lymphocytic leukemia (CLL), non-small cell lung cancer (NSCLC), breast cancer, and ovarian cancer. Its expression is associated with cancer cell survival, EMT, and metastasis. Ror1 antibodies are used to explore how Ror1 promotes tumor growth and to assess its potential as a therapeutic target for Ror1-targeted therapies, such as monoclonal antibodies or small molecule inhibitors.
  • Lung Cancer: In NSCLC, Ror1 expression has been associated with poor prognosis and resistance to certain therapies. Ror1 antibodies are employed to investigate its role in lung cancer progression and the potential benefits of targeting Ror1 in lung cancer treatments.
  • Developmental Biology: In addition to its role in cancer, Ror1 is involved in normal embryonic development, particularly in regulating the migration and differentiation of cells. Ror1 antibodies are used in developmental biology research to study its expression and function during organogenesis and tissue morphogenesis.

Ror1 (RBK) antibodies are powerful tools for studying the molecular mechanisms underlying Ror1’s role in development and cancer progression. By facilitating the detection and localization of Ror1 in various tissues and cell types, these antibodies provide crucial insights into how Ror1 contributes to cell signaling, migration, and survival, particularly in cancers like CLL, breast cancer, and lung cancer.
