CLTA Antibodies

CLTA antibodies target the CLTA (Clathrin Light Chain A) protein, a key component of the clathrin-coated vesicles involved in intracellular trafficking. Clathrin-mediated endocytosis is critical for the transport of membrane-bound receptors and other cargo molecules into the cell.

Content of CLTA Antibodies

CLTA antibodies are highly specific monoclonal or polyclonal antibodies designed to recognize the CLTA protein in different species and tissue types. These antibodies are used in immunohistochemistry (IHC), Western blotting, immunoprecipitation, and immunofluorescence (IF) to detect CLTA expression levels and to study its localization in cells, particularly in the context of clathrin-mediated endocytosis.

  • Clathrin Light Chain A: Involved in the assembly and regulation of clathrin-coated vesicles, playing a key role in vesicular transport processes such as endocytosis and protein sorting.
Application of CLTA Antibodies
  • Endocytosis and Vesicle Trafficking Research: CLTA antibodies are extensively used to study clathrin-mediated endocytosis, a major cellular process for internalizing molecules from the cell membrane. Researchers use these antibodies to analyze the formation and disassembly of clathrin-coated vesicles and to investigate how defects in clathrin function can lead to disrupted cellular trafficking.
  • Neurodegenerative Disease Studies: Abnormal clathrin-mediated trafficking is associated with neurodegenerative disorders such as Alzheimer’s disease. CLTA antibodies are employed to study the involvement of CLTA in neuronal endocytosis and how its dysfunction contributes to synaptic degradation and neurotoxicity in disease conditions.
  • Cancer Research: Altered clathrin-mediated endocytosis is implicated in cancer, where dysregulation of receptor trafficking can influence tumor growth and metastasis. CLTA antibodies are used to investigate the role of CLTA in cancer cell signaling pathways and to understand how endocytosis contributes to tumorigenic processes.
  • Immunohistochemistry and Immunofluorescence: CLTA antibodies are used in IHC and IF to visualize the localization of clathrin light chains in cells and tissues. This helps to reveal the spatial distribution of clathrin-mediated endocytosis, particularly in tissues where vesicular trafficking plays a critical role, such as in neuronal or epithelial cells.

CLTA antibodies are indispensable for understanding the molecular details of clathrin-mediated endocytosis, intracellular trafficking, and their roles in health and disease, particularly in cancer, neurodegeneration, and cellular transport regulation.
