CDH antibodies target cadherins (CDH), a family of calcium-dependent adhesion proteins crucial in maintaining tissue architecture and cellular signaling. Cadherins play a fundamental role in cell-cell adhesion, particularly in epithelial and neural tissues. CDH antibodies are often used in research to study cell adhesion, signal transduction, tissue integrity, and epithelial-mesenchymal transition (EMT). These antibodies recognize different cadherin isoforms, including E-cadherin (CDH1), N-cadherin (CDH2), and P-cadherin (CDH3), which are central in developmental biology and cancer metastasis research.

Content of CDH Antibodies

CDH antibodies are typically monoclonal or polyclonal and are developed to bind specific cadherin isoforms expressed on cell surfaces. They are highly specific, recognizing extracellular domains involved in calcium-dependent homophilic binding interactions. CDH antibodies are useful in immunoassays such as Western blotting, immunofluorescence, immunohistochemistry, and flow cytometry to detect cadherin expression levels and distributions across various tissues and conditions.

• E-cadherin (CDH1): A key epithelial marker involved in maintaining the integrity of epithelial cell layers and preventing metastasis in cancer.
• N-cadherin (CDH2): Plays a role in neural tissue development and EMT, promoting cell migration in cancer metastasis.
• P-cadherin (CDH3): Linked to tumor progression and invasion, especially in breast cancer.

Application of CDH Antibodies

• Cancer Research: CDH antibodies are widely used in studying the role of cadherins in cancer metastasis. E-cadherin loss is a hallmark of EMT, where epithelial cells gain migratory properties, contributing to tumor metastasis. 
• Cell Adhesion Studies: CDH antibodies are critical in studying cellular interactions in tissue development and maintenance. They help elucidate the mechanisms by which cells adhere to one another and maintain tissue architecture in both normal and disease states.
• Developmental Biology: Since cadherins are vital in tissue morphogenesis, CDH antibodies are used to study their role in embryonic development, tissue differentiation, and organ formation. These antibodies provide insight into the regulation of developmental pathways mediated by cadherin interactions.
