BRD Antibodies

BRD antibodies are designed to target members of the Bromodomain (BRD) family of proteins, which are epigenetic readers that recognize acetylated lysine residues on histones and other proteins. Bromodomain-containing proteins are critical regulators of gene transcription, chromatin remodeling, and cellular proliferation. Among the BRD proteins, BRD2, BRD3, BRD4, and BRDT are of particular interest due to their involvement in chromatin-dependent signaling and transcriptional control. 

Application of BRD Antibodies

• Western Blotting (WB): BRD antibodies are frequently used in Western blotting to analyze the expression levels of BRD proteins in cell or tissue lysates. This is particularly important in cancer and epigenetics research, where BRD proteins like BRD4 play a key role in transcriptional regulation of oncogenes. 
• Immunohistochemistry (IHC): In IHC, BRD antibodies are employed to detect the expression and localization of BRD proteins in formalin-fixed, paraffin-embedded tissue sections. IHC with BRD antibodies is useful for studying the involvement of BRD proteins in cancer progression and for evaluating their expression patterns in normal versus diseased tissues. 
• Immunofluorescence (IF): BRD antibodies are widely used in IF to visualize the subcellular localization of BRD proteins, particularly their interaction with chromatin and transcriptional complexes. BRD antibodies enable the study of the dynamic redistribution of BRD proteins during different cellular processes, such as the cell cycle or DNA damage response.
• Flow Cytometry (FACS): In flow cytometry, BRD antibodies conjugated with fluorescent labels are used to quantify the expression of BRD proteins in specific cell populations. This is critical for high-throughput analysis of BRD protein function in cancer cell lines or primary cells.
